The Tulipwood – Bird’s Eye Maple Road Player Deluxe (60 Inch Long Cue)

Tulipwood, one of the most beautiful rosewoods has been very popular in pool and billiard cues for decades but it has become increasingly rare over the past ten years. Fortunately I foresaw this early on and acquired a large stock while it was still available.

We started building this cue from a piece of Tulipwood that I acquired in 1998. It had seasoned in my air-conditioned shop for over 7 years. We incorporated three Birds Eye Maple Rings into the Joint and Forearm. Linen Based Fiber was used to reinforce the joint and to prevent splitting. We parted off 3 Birds Eye Maple Rings for use in the joint area and the butt sleeve. We also added 8 Purple Heart Diamonds into the cue. The entire figure pattern was kept intact throughout the cue’s ringwork from the joint to the butt cap. In other words it all lines up. This cue is 60 inches long (30 inch long butt and a 30 inch long shaft).
