Every once in a while I decide that I need a new cue (Cindy, my wife, says I already have enough!). Anyway I was trying to decide just what a player really needed in a cue for it to be perfect, and I decided that for me it should perform flawlessly and be pleasing to the eye. So I started with a piece of my favorite material -- Center-cut elephant ivory. I added a seasoned piece of Gaboon Ebony and a piece of XXX Birdseye Maple. I could have used a piece of Birdseye Maple with more definition, but for my personal cues I prefer to use a subtle-grained piece instead of a highly defined piece. I don't think more is always better. It's just my personal preference. 

I also prefer the hit of an Ivory Joint and Ivory Ferrules, which it has. I am kind of nuts about arc-shaped diamonds too, so, I put large ones in the butt sleeve and smaller ones in the Ebony Points (they match in shape and align with the ones in the butt sleeve). I then added eight ivory inlays next to the butt cap for contrast and moved on to the wrap. 

It was a hard decision, but I really prefer Irish Linen over leather so I went with the industry standard: black with white specks. The cue was equipped  with an Arnot Laminated Shaft and a medium Moori tip. My new creation weighs a healthy 19.25 ounces. Here it is. My Ebony With Attitude. Of course, I am keeping the prototype, but I will be happy to build your own Ebony With Attitude.
